- Lachen/Speyerdorf, Germany |
Target Category: Airfield -   |
Built in 1913 as an "Airfield Lilienthal" it was used by the Bavarian military government during the First World War. After the war the field was occupied by the French, who used it until 1930 as a French military airfield. From 1931 to 1945, the airfield was a German military airfield. After World War II, the French again occupied the field until 1955. At that time, it became a glider field (Germany was still prohibited from having powered flight). In 1961 the airfield became a public civilian airfield. from: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flugplatz_Lachen-Speyerdorf |
