Focke-Wulf - Bremen, Germany

Aviation pioneer Henrich Focke erected in 1910 a small shed to produce gliders. Georg Wulf joined in 1912. Both men joined the German military in World War I. In 1923, Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau AG was founded. In 1931 Focke-Wulf began producing military aircraft. A new factory in Bremen was built in 1934. Following extensive bombing early in the war, production was dispersed to various sites in eastern Germany and Poland while business administration remained in Bremen. The site was taken was by British troops in April 1945.
