Target: NORDHOLZ GERMANY Airfield (2 aircraft) - (53.7677, 8.6596)

In 1912, an airship field was built. In 1916, the airship school of Hamburg moved in. With the completion of several large hangars, Nordholz had inside storage facilities for 10 airships. After World War I, the airship were destroyed and the base dismantled. In 1922 the site was cultivated and then used for agriculture. In 1935 efforts began to rebuild the airfield. It was used by both day and night fighters. In June 1945, the air base was taken over by the U.S. Air Force. By 1948 yhe site was again used for agriculture. Today it is a Naval air station.
