Target: DEDELSTORF GERMANY Airfield (13 aircraft) - (52.7143, 10.5098)

Construction began in 1936 using 1,000 forced-laborers. Used mostly for education and training purposes, in 1945 work began on a longer runway for the new jet aircraft. The work was done by Yugoslav and Italian prisoners of war from the STALAG Wietzendorf. German troops destroyed some of the buildings in April 1945. On 14 April 45 American troops reached Dedelstorf. After the war the British RAF based its own aircraft here. Today the property is used for civilian purposes. Almost all former runway surface and the open area of the former training area is now a vast potato field.
