Target: MEMMINGEN GERMANY Airfield (8 aircraft) - (47.9894, 10.2421)

Constructed quickly during the period January to October 1936. In 1937 KG 255, the Alps Squadron (soon renamed to KG 51 Edelweiss) was the first unit at the base, flying HE 111, and the Ju 88. In 1940, a concrete runway of 1,000m length was built. In 1944 the Me 262 jet fighter was tested here. After several heavy bombing attacks in mid-1944, the base became non-operational. On 26 April 1945, US forces occupied the area.
